NTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED LEVEL TELESCOPE – Quality telescope for Intermediate & Advanced users. Higher performance for those that wish to achieve much more. Increased performance on the moon, planets, stars, double stars, star clusters, globular star clusters, nebulae and the bright galaxies.

Are you looking for a very portable telescope that’s great for both terrestrial and celestial applications? How about a telescope designed for small areas? Do you want a telescope that delivers excellent performance on Solar System studies and also performs on deep sky?

Then you need to take a closer look at the Saxon 15018EQ3 150mm Maksutov Cassegrain Reflector Telescope System… The Saxon 6″ Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope is the ultimate take-anywhere telescope. It is also ideal if working space is limited. Despite its small dimensions the Saxon 150mm Mak packs a powerful punch. It has a high-resolution, diffraction limited optical system which is multi-coated to maximize contrast and image sharpness.

The 6″ system operates at a 1800mm focal length with a focal ratio of f/13 – capable of delivering outstanding high magnification views. Whether you choose to aim this telescope at a distant object on land or in the sky, you can expect sharp, high contrast image quality. It is held steady by a heavy-duty EQ3 German equatorial mount with slow motion controls on both axes and set on an equally heavy-duty aluminium tripod and convenient accessory tray.

Saxon 15018EQ3 150mm Maksutov Cassegrain Reflector Telescope System Features…

* Heavy duty EQ3 German equatorial mount with manual slow motion controls on both axes.

* Heavy duty, adjustable height aluminium tripod with a handy accessory tray.

* Collimation screws for primary mirror

* Accessories include a 90 degree star diagonal, upgraded 9X50 finderscope, 25mm and 10mm Super eyepieces

What can you expect to see with a Saxon 150mm Maksutov Cassegrain Reflecting Telescope?

You might want to sit down when you view the Moon, because you’re going to be blown away by razor sharp images of its cratered surface. Fine details like bright mountain tops, deep valleys, splattering rays and surface cracks will appear to your eager eyes. You’ll enjoy loops and festoons on the equatorial belts of Jupiter and watch in amazement as shadows from transit events slip across the face of the mighty planet like tiny, black holes.

Saturn’s rings show divisions and its smaller moons dance around the ring edges as Titan circles outside. Mars, when close, reveals bright polar caps and dark surface features. Venus and Mercury reveal their phases and Neptune and Uranus show as pale, colored dots. Deep sky performance is also part and parcel of the Saxon 6″ Mak. Bright star clusters resolve into individual members and denser clusters begin to shatter into tiny diamonds of stellar points. Larger galaxies show detail and you’ll be amazed with the hazy, frozen appearance of nebula. Don’t forget colorful stars, either!

The Saxon 15018EQ3 150mm Mak isn’t limited to being an astronomy telescope. It works equally well with terrestrial subjects, too! Use it for surveillance – be it for security or just studying wildlife. You can follow a ship at sea, or just take a very close look at a wild bird or distant waterfall. With optional accessories, the Saxon 6″ Mak can also be used for astrophotography or as a super tele-photo lens! The possibilities are up to you…

    Dear Cris,
This is just a short note with thanks to let you know the the telescope turned up this morning and is all in one piece.
Of course I did set it up straight away and have to say that I think I made a good choice.
I only wanted to line the finder scope up but got the shock of my life when to do so I picked a tree top that I know is three and a half miles from me and with a 10mm lens can count the gum nuts left on the tree in this one spot with absolute clarity , now I am waiting for tonight in the hope that the clouds may go.
Thank you for your advice and help along with extremely good service, I can tell you now that I will be back very soon to purchase a 45 degree diagonal and maybe a couple more eyepieces.
    One very happy customer.
    Yours sincerely,
    John, West Australia.
