BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE TELESCOPE – Good quality introductory & Intermediate level telescope – Good performance on the moon, planets, stars, double stars & star clusters.

Available in stock, limited stock available.

Do you want to buy a pure astronomy telescope that’s designed with the advanced beginner and intermediate level amateur astronomer in mind? How about a telescope that’s capable of great deep sky views and up to the task of Solar System studies? Are you looking for a telescope to chase comets and follow asteroids? How about one that can even be adapted for terrestrial views?

Then check out the Saxon 1309 EQ2 5.2″ Reflecting Telescope System!

Note: This is a full “Astronomy Duty” 900mm focal length Astronomical telescope. There is a lower duty & quality 650mm focal length version of this telescope that some suppliers may offer – we do not offer this 650mm variant as it’s quality & performance is significantly below the 900mm model, and fails to perform at the required level to achieve capable astronomical performance & duty.

The Saxon 1309 EQ2 130mm Reflector telescope starts off with an aluminum body optical tube that houses a 5.2″ aluminized and overcoated parabolic primary mirror. It operates at a 900mm focal length and a f/7 focal ratio. It delivers a limiting magnitude of 12.8 and is capable of a magnification factor of up to 337X. This larger size mirror allows the Saxon 130mm reflector telescope to collect 30% more light than a 114mm – resulting in better resolution and brighter images.

It is held steady by the Saxon EQ2 German equatorial mount which includes slow motion controls on both axes and an adjustable aluminum tripod.

Saxon 1309 EQ2 130mm Reflector Telescope System Features…

* Aluminized and overcoated 5.2″ parabolic primary mirror for extra light gathering capabilities and bright, high contrast images

* Saxon EQ2 German equatorial mount which includes manual slow motion controls on both axes.

* Adjustable aluminum tripod and convenient accessory tray

* Standard 1.25″ rack and pinion focuser accepts a wide variety of eyepieces

* Includes 5X24 optical finderscope, Super 10mm and 25mm eyepieces

What can you expect to see with the Saxon 1309 EQ2 5.2″ Reflecting Telescope System? With almost one third more light gathering ability than comparably sized reflector telescopes, you can expect brighter, more resolved views of distant galactic star clusters – not to mention more colorful images! Pincushion-like groupings of stars appear in globular clusters and nebulae will waft like frozen smoke across the night.

You’ll see distant deepo space objects appear like tiny ghosts against the star fields and larger. You will marvel over your views of the Moon – from the highest mountain tops to the deepest craters. Saturn will clearly show its ring system with the tiny moons circling the edges and Titan orbiting on the outside. Jupiter will display its varied equatorial zones, the Great Red Spot and the intricate dance of the four Galiean moons.

When Mars is close, you’ll see dazzling polar caps and dark surface features. You’ll follow the phases of Venus and Mercury – as well as catch the tiny dots of Uranus and Neptune. What’s more, you can capture brighter comets too!
