Cris Ellis is founder & proprietor of Astronomy Alive ABN 73 571 911 982 (est 1982)

Cris was first introduced to Astronomy at age 8, when he viewed Jupiter through a telescope. He saw the round disc of the planet & it’s four largest moons, and was instantly hooked on Astronomy

He is well known in Australian Astronomy as Founder and President of the Astronomical Society of Melbourne, also as creator & teacher of the Astronomy courses at various Melbourne colleges

Key Note Speaking & Viewing Sessions

Cris is the leading public speaker & night sky viewing demonstrator in South East Australia, his presentations are highly engaging & dynamic, a very proactive & entertaining experience

He has performed thousands of Key Note speaking engagements – such as Opening Conferences, Astronomy Training, Corporate Functions & School Astronomy Events (including viewing sessions) – both in Australia and globally - over 1,000 schools throughout Victoria have experienced his enthusiasm

Cris has a background in the Engineering & Automotive industry (>35 years). He is an Engineer specialising in Optical Metrology (Science of Measurement)
